God Is Big Enough: Bigger Than My Fear
Date: Sunday, May 9, 2010
Pastor Mark Kraft
Have you ever had a moment in your life where you hoped to find courage, but instead found yourself gripped by fear? Not the kind of fear that rightly warns you against a stupid decision like skiing off a cliff, but a real, deep, personal fear. A fear about your future, a loved one, a situation or decision at work or at school, or a fear about your past or something you’ve done. It can leave you feeling paralyzed, helpless, and alone.
This weekend, w will be talking about fear. If there is any area where I struggle to believe that God is enough, it is in the parts of my life where I struggle with fear. Fears about all the unknowns and “what if’s”, fears about my many weaknesses, fears about what people will think of me and fears about a myriad of other things going on in my life. So, where is God in that?
Mark will take us into a story from the life of Moses, a story that will change how we understand fear and courage. In the story, God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and to the promise land. And to assure Moses that his future is in good hands, God makes him four incredible promises... We’ll look at those found in Exodus 3 and 4.
