God Is Big Enough: Big God, Little God
Date: Sunday, April 11, 2010
Pastor Mark Kraft

Whatever you need, God is bigger. Whatever your weakness, God is stronger. And we are going to look today at: what is it like to live with a God who is so big? We are going to do that by looking at an individual story way back in the Old Testament, in the Book of Judges, back before Israel had kings like King David. They were living in the Promised Land, they had problems. Their problems were called Midianites. The Midianites had attacked the Promised Land and the text says they were like “swarms of locusts.” They would take over all of the crops. Things were so bad that we are told the Israelites were living in caves and holes in the ground and the Israelites had not paid any attention to God for a long time. But as we are apt to do when we are in pain, now they cried out to God for help.

“Help us, help us, help us.”

God comes to one of the most unlikely characters in all of Israel, a man named Gideon. We’ll se what happens on Sunday.
